Recent Oracle Training Poises E-volve to Provide Solutions to Client Challenges

Customized pagelets, single sign-on, and an improved user interface-these are just a few of the benefits that one of our core Department of Defense clients hopes to achieve with the planned upgrade of their PeopleSoft HRMS and the integration of PeopleSoft portal technology. The realization of these benefits, through detailed system configuration and set-up, were the topics of a PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 course recently attended by E-volve senior consultants.

While enhanced navigation and improved search capabilities are key features of the latest PeopleSoft version, the most notable enhancement is the paradigm shift to the person model. The person model takes into account that each person can have more than one role or job in the organization at any point in time, and those roles or jobs can change over time. PeopleSoft groups these roles, or relationships, into Employees, Contingent Workers and Persons of Interest (POI). Based on the experience of many of E-volve's partners in the industry, the conversion to the person model is a significant challenge for many federal agencies upgrading to the more recent PeopleSoft versions.

This is because agencies must reevaluate the role of all workers within their organization (e.g. employees, contractors, temporary matrixed employees) and the impact of those roles on human resources processes such as training, succession planning, performance management, and compensation.

Through training, independent analysis and industry experience, E-volve is poising its consultants to be the premier "go to" people in assisting federal clients in better understanding the PeopleSoft person model setup and the impact that setup has on other PeopleSoft modules such as eRecruit, ePerformance, and Time and Labor.

This is in addition to the services E-volve continues to work with clients on, such as:

  • Identify opportunities for maximizing utilization of newly delivered PeopleSoft commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) functionality;
  • Performing Fit-Gap analyses to determine what business needs are not supplied by the (COTS) functionality;
  • Assessing the business benefits for customizing the (COTS) capabilities with new development;
  • Configuring and customizing PeopleSoft modules to meet customer business needs;
  • Providing change management and training to the workforce and core users; and,
  • Providing post implementation and Help Desk support.

Keeping our consultants current in industry knowledge and tools is a core objective for E-volve to ensure we provide relevant and lasting solutions to our clients. Oracle PeopleSoft training, as recently attended is just one step E-volve has taken toward meeting that core objective.
